Our Story

 In 2006, Big O Metals, was started by Lin Pryor.  Lin was born and raised in Texas and still calls this great state home.   Lin has worked in the steel industry his entire life, building successful relationships and friendships along the way.  One particular friendship Lin formed was with a co-worker named Oscar Moreno.  Lin and Oscar would often talk about starting their own steel business one day.   Unfortunately, they would never realize this dream together due to Oscar suddenly passing away as a result of a heart attack.    In the wake of this tragedy, Lin decided to put legs to their dream and start Big O Metals.  The company was named in honor of Oscar, whose nickname was "Big O".   Today, Big O Metals has over 30 employees in Arizona and Texas.  

Building on the success of Big O Metals, Steelwood Smokers was formed out of a passion for making great BBQ and fabricating the highest quality steel products in the market.  Steelwood is the result of our company's experience, craftsmanship, and innovation converging to create a company capable of building products that deliver exceptional value and performance for the backyard enthusiast.  We hold a deep appreciation for the time-honored techniques and traditions that have made Texas BBQ an American culinary treasure.  It is for the love of BBQ and its community of enthusiasts that we've embarked on a journey to bring our customers the finest cookers and smokers available.  At Steelwood Smokers, we're building more than great products; we're helping craft an authentic BBQ experience unique to real wood cooking.   From the plains of Texas to the rugged landscapes of Arizona and beyond, we invite you to join us as we celebrate American BBQ cuisine steeped in the rich heritage it calls its own.
